We are blessed to care for your child while you participate in classes, worship and study of God’s word.  We hope to provide a secure, healthy and loving environment in which to teach the youngest children the word of God and of God’s love for them.  We want to know your little ones!

What to Bring
- NO PEANUTS
- A Diaper bag marked with your child’s name on it.
- At least one diaper per hour your child will stay in the nursery.
- A bottle or cup marked with your child’s name (fingernail polish works well even in the dishwasher).  Please be sure to tell the Nursery staff if the bottle contains breast milk (as universal precautions are taken with all bodily fluids, including breast milk.)
- Pacifier, security toy or blanket.  Be sure to mark everything individually.

Nursing Room
A nursing room is provided for those mothers who are nursing their infant.  It is conveniently located between the Turtle and Kangaroo Rooms in the Nursery.

Cry Room
A cry room is available for those parents who wish to keep their children with them during the worship services.  This room (also called the Bride’s room) is just outside the eastern doors of the Fellowship Hall, one floor down from the Hanley Road entrance to the church and is equipped with audiovisual equipment so that you can view the service without worry that your child is disturbing those around you.  Changing stations are installed in both the men’s and women’s restrooms located just outside the Cry Room.

As Your Child Grows…
Each Nursery room is designed to meet the needs of your baby’s physical, spiritual, and emotional stages of development.  Every classroom hears a Bible story each week.  Here is a general guideline for the Nursery rooms:

Panda
For babies from 8 weeks until they can crawl or sit up well by themselves.

Turtle
For babies who crawl until they can walk.

Kangaroo
For young toddlers who are walking.

Giraffe
For older toddlers who are walking; up to approximately 2 years old.

Lion
Children enter this class at approximately two years old.  At age two and beyond, your child will be assigned to a Sunday school room at the beginning of the new school year in September.

Serving in the Nursery

What a sweet hour, to love and care for the precious children in our Nursery!  We strive to maintain a high staff-to-child ratio in each of our Nursery rooms and require that everyone who serves in the Nursery pass a background check.  We can always use additional volunteers!

If you choose to leave your child in the Nursery on Sunday mornings, we ask that you serve as a volunteer during just one service every five to six weeks.

If you do not have nursery-age children, we still need your help!  We welcome all qualified members of the congregation (over the age of 16.)

If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact the Nursery director at (314) 727.2777, ext. 145 for more information or questions.
