    What is Children's Church?

We offer a "children's worship opportunity" during the sermon of the 8:30am service. Children's Church is designed to help kids experience the elements of worship at an age-appropriate level. They will sing worship songs, hear God's word, and pray. After worshipping with their family during the first part of the service, kids ages 3-years through 1st grade will be invited to join our leaders at the front of the sanctuary. The children will be escorted to "Children's Church" in Classroom B - just downstairs. After the sermon, our leaders will walk the children back to the front of the sanctuary to meet their parents. PLEASE NOTE: If you plan to send your child to Children's Church, please look for Children's Church name tags in the Hanley lobby and in the pews and fill one out for your child. All Children's Church kids must have a name tag before leaving the sanctuary with the leaders.

What does my child do during Sunday school?

We do a variety of things to create time and space for your child to know God, to know self and others, and to discover new ways of making God known to the world.

What curriculum do you use on Sunday mornings?

Our preschool and elementary classes use The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum. The Gospel Project takes kids on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Kids will discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation. When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything. You can see all of The Gospel Project lessons in the KidCentral Parents and Leaders group in MyCentral.

What is the deal with snacks?

For grades 2-5, we have a snack option every Sunday morning. All of our food is nut free and we try to keep the sugar to a minimum. There is always a gluten-free choice, and we limit the portion size. Since snack time is part of our "Open Rooms" time, your child may or may not choose to have a snack. For children in 1st grade and younger, we do not provide Sunday morning snacks. Don't forget about the yummy treats in the Fellowship Hall every Sunday!

How does drop-off and pick-up work?

To ensure safety, we ask that no children under 6th grade walk alone on campus. When you drop-off your child, please take his or her number ticket and make sure we have a current emergency contact number in your child's nametag pocket. Similar to the way a coat check works, whomever picks up your child must have that same ticket. You may delegate drop-off and/or pick-up by passing your ticket to someone you trust (6th grade or older).

What time is drop-off and pick-up?

You may drop-off your child anytime after 9:45am and pick up at 11:05am.

Who is in charge? What if I have a question or concern about Sunday school?

Please don't hesitate to contact Becky Hall (Elementary Ed. Coordinator) or Karen Brown (Director of Family Ministries).

How will I know about special events and when there is no Sunday school

Your best resource will be in the MyCentral group called "KidCentral Parents and Leaders". You might also want to like our KidCentral Facebook page for updates and reminders. Please let us know if you aren't getting KidCentral communication via email!

    How can I help?

We are always looking for parents to join us in this rewarding, Kingdom work. You can sign up to be a once-a-month helping hand, or a regular member of our teaching team. Email Becky if you are interested!

The nursery is open for children ages 2 and under on Wednesday nights. Ages 3-1st grade study Amazing Old Testament Heroes on Wednesday nights. This curriculum by Discipleland reinforces bible stories with fun games and crafts. After Christmas, they will switch to Amazing New Testament Heroes from the same publisher. Ages 3-1st grade meet on the second floor of the main building, above the nursery, on Wednesday nights. Students in grades 2-5 will also be busy. Along with our weekly service project on Wednesday nights, they will be studying the Parables - as a compliment to our Sunday sermon series this fall. We'll be using the Kids' Travel Guide Through the Parables curriculum by Group Publishing. We'll travel on this journey through Jesus' parables, in eluding lessons on the sower, lost sheep, a mustard seed, the unmerciful servant, the good Samaritan, and more. Grades 2-5 meet in the Duplex, the building just south of the parking garage with the bright red door.
