Mission and Vision
MISSION:
Central Presbyterian Church seeks to glorify the triune God by embracing the Gospel, building our community, making disciples and transforming societies.
Spiritual Objectives for Accomplishing our Purpose:
Our first priority will be to follow the scriptural mandates for effectiveness in the church.
- To glorify God we will be diligent in our times of worship, our institution of the sacraments, and our commitment to prayer and holiness. We will seek to live lives that reflect humility, repentance and obedience.
- To embrace the gospel, we will preach Christ and teach God’s Word faithfully in corporate worship, and in large and small groups. We will proclaim Jesus the Savior to all who come. We will help each member to unfold the blessings of faith and new life in all relationships.
- To build our community we will motivate and edify people based on the love of Christ. We will discover, develop and deploy new leaders. We will also seek to enhance our sense of family as a church and promote a true love for one another both internally and in the larger family of God.
- To make disciples we will encourage the study and meditation on the Scriptures in worship, large studies, small studies and in one-on-one mentoring. We will train the congregation for ministry.
- To transform societies we will engage in evangelism and ministries of mercy in St. Louis, we will help start ministries in underserved places in America and we will support with our funds, our training and our presence, strategic ministries throughout the world.
