Barbara Orland - Tuesday, February 28 | 7 pm

 

Barbara OrlandBarbara Orland is the Associate Principal Oboist of the St. Louis Symphony. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Temple University, she has presented recitals throughout the country and abroad, including recent performances in Melbourne, Australia. Barbara is an active participant in the Symphony's Community Partnership Program, and enjoys teaching oboists of all levels. Barbara is a neighbor to Central Church, having lived in Davis Place for many years.

The oboe sound is said to be the most similar to the human voice, and Barbara will make it sing with classical masterpieces and familiar melodies such as Vocalise by Rachmaninoff. She is a St. Louis treasure; you will thoroughly enjoy this evening of great music.

 

Wheaton College Women's Chorale
Saturday, March 10 | 4 pm

WheatonWomensChoraleThe Wheaton College Women's Chorale's central goal is to worship God, to uplift audiences through shared ministry, and to enrich the college experience for ensemble members. These 60 students, directed by Mary Hopper, have appeared in recent years at both regional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. Listerners far and wide have praised the ensemble for its super music-making and Christian witness.

 

Randy Mayfield - Friday, May 4 | 7 pm

RandyMayfieldCentral's own Randy Mayfield will be sharing a variety of his musical styles from Classical to Contemporary Christian. He will be joined by members of West County Fellowship, Central's West County campus. Randy performed this past year all over the world with symphony orchestras in Iraq, Russia, England, Hungary, and in the U.S. His concerts are great for the whole family as you enjoy his wonderful voice.

This concert will be held at the new outdoor Chesterfield Amphitheater right behind the Chesterfield YMCA at 690 Chesterfield Parkway. Central will provide a shuttle bus from the Central School parking garage at 6pm returning after the concert. Full directions and details, such as bringing a picnic supper, will be forthcoming.
