______________________________________________________________

When you drop your child off at his or her classroom in the NURSERY, you will be given a pager and will be paged should your child need you.  When you drop your child off at his or her classroom in the EARLY CHILDHOOD or ELEMENTARY, you will be asked where you can be found.  If your child should need you for any reason, a staff member will come to you.

__________

Our volunteer staff is trained to handle most emergency situations.  In case of an emergency involving the entire building you will be instructed as to where and how you may pick up your child.  In case of an emergency specific to your child, we will locate you immediately.  If the situation calls, our volunteers may call 911 before contacting you.  Please tell the volunteer staff of any special medical condition that your child may have.

__________

The first time your child attends a class you will be asked to fill out a registration card.  You will also find registration cards under the 'Parent Resources' tab to the right.  Your child's name and information will then be entered into our computer system so that you may begin checking them in and out of class at the computer.

__________

We use the information to get to know you & your child better.  We are able to identify birthdays, send you updated ministry information and keep our records up to date.  This is important especially in the younger classrooms where classes are divided by birthdate rather than grade.  Your information is never shared with outside organizations or individuals.

__________

Since all infants and toddlers develop at a different rate, children under two-years-old are grouped with children who are in the same developmental stage and move from room to room accordingly.  From two-years-old until pre-K, children are grouped by birthday, depending on our available classroom space.  Starting in Kindergarten, children are divided by grade and are promoted each year accordingly.  Once they leave the nursery, children are promoted to the next class once a year, in September.

__________

We do offer snacks as a part of KidCentral, both on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.  Please note that we are PEANUT FREE and do not offer any snacks made on the same machine as peanut snacks (this includes M&Ms, animal cookies, etc.).  If your child has an allergy to another food item please feel free to bring a snack for your child and please make us aware of your child's dietary restrictions.

__________

We have found that it is best for your son or daughter to leave their toy or security item in the car or at home, so that there are no lost or broken items.  This also saves you the agony of trying to console your son or daughter who refuses to ever come to church again because their toy got misplaced or broken or from having to call the church at 8:30 pm frantically trying to locate 'Mr. Bear'.

__________

We are constantly striving to provide a loving, secure, healthy environment for your child.  Because of that, we ask that you not bring your child if they have had a fever or diarrhea in the last 48 hours or have been on antibiotics less than 48 hours.  We also take universal percautions with all bodily fluids and ask that you let the Nursery staff know if your child's bottle contains breast milk.

In addition to the above percautions, we also have the nursery and early childhood carpets cleaned regularly and clean toys after each use.  The nusery staff wear booties, serving the dual purpose of keeping carpets clean and guarding against unknowingly stepping on a child's hand - it's much easier to feel those little fingers without the thick sole of a shoe!

__________

Yes.  We have a nursing room in the nursery, located between the 'turtle' and 'kangaroo' rooms.  Please put the laminated sign on the door frame to let others know that you do not want to be interrupted.

__________

Yes.  We have a 'cry room' located just down the staircase (Hanley Road entrance).  This is also called the 'Bride's room'.  There is a television located in the cry room with a live video feed from the sanctuary so that you do not miss the worship service.  We also have televisions located in the narthex and in the lobby.

__________

Yes.  We are always looking for willing volunteers in all areas of KidCentral - the nursery, early childhood, elementary and behind the scenes.  The more our church grows, the more volunteers we need.  We almost always have ways in which a volunteer can serve, even outside the classroom, like making sure our supplies stay stocked or helping stuff big mailings.  Please contact  to find out more about being involved in Children's Ministry as a volunteer.
