Fall Classes

Nursery

The nursery is available for children 8 weeks to 2 years old from 6:15-7:45 pm on the first floor of the Early Childhood wing.

Early Childhood

Early Childhood (3 years old through 1st grade) will meet in the Koala Room from 6:30-7:30. We will be going through the DiscipleLand curriculum: Amazing New Testament Heroes. The children will learn about the faith of 19 New Testament personalities who responded to Jesus' presence in their lives, and see the living Christ through the eyes of the people in the Gospels. They will understand why Jesus is the Hero who God sent to save us all.

Elementary

Along with our weekly service project on Wednesday nights, our Elementary Students will be studying the book of Romans in a kid-friendly fashion. We will be using “Romans Study for Kids” by Nicole Love Halbrooks Vaughn: “Romans Study for Kids is designed to help us learn how to discover truth for ourselves by digging into the Scriptures. Through this study we can learn how to pay attention to the details. We will learn how to read the Bible and ask who, what, when, where, why, and how. We will learn how Scripture interprets Scripture and how important context is when it comes to understanding the Word of God.” Although the curriculum is meant to be in-depth, we will lighten it up a bit to fit with our Wednesday night activities.. Grades 2-5 meet in the Duplex.

Middle School | Student Center

From 6:30-7:30, Middle Schoolers will meet in the Student Center for fellowship, a quick review of Sunday’s lesson, and small group discipleship. We’ll use this time to dig a little deeper into that week’s catechism question and/or scripture passage. Our small group leaders will help their students to personally engage with biblical truths and grow closer as a community.

Senior High | Main church building

Since our High Schoolers meet on Sunday nights, we don’t have regular programming on Wednesday nights for them, but we LOVE when they come and participate in the following HS mid-week options:

  • Sing in the adult choir (contact Matt Mazzoni – he’s hoping for more students to join!)
  • Check out an adult class. There are many great options listed below.
  • Help with KidCentral classes. Our Elementary/Early Childhood leaders would love some positive role models to help in the younger classes.

Adults

ambassadors of good news: Sharing god's unchanging love in a changing world
Pastor Ben Tzeng | Parlor

It is really hard to have good conversations about spiritual questions with others who don’t understand or don’t accept our faith. God has an unchanging desire for people to know him deeply and for his people make him known to others. However, our society is changing constantly, and it is challenging to find ways to communicate God’s love to others with truth and grace. This class will help us learn how we can become more faithful and effective in reaching out with love to our neighbors as ambassadors of the good news of Jesus. We will examine new trends and shifts in evangelism, the importance of building bridges of trust and love in forming relationships with others, and tools and methods we can practice together to share God’s good news.

marriage by god's design
Tim Galvin | Gathering Place

How can Christians learn to experience the goodness and glory of God’s design for marriage? Tim Galvin, a licensed marriage and family therapist in St. Louis and an elder at Chesterfield Presbyterian Church, will lead a study of God’s design for marriages that flourish and the and the challenges that make marriage complicated and difficult. Drawing upon the work of several marriage counselors and experts, the class will focus on practical ways to developing and improving marriage relationships. Galvin will lead discussions about how couples “lose each other” and get stuck in conflict and impasse, and how, with God’s grace, they can reorient and “find each other again” to nurture and develop their marriages to enjoy the love and support they need.
