Central Concert Series | Ruth Naomi Floyd

A gifted vocalist and composer, Ruth Naomi Floyd has been at the forefront of creating vocal jazz settings that express Christian message since 1993. Blessed with a soaring mezzo-soprano voice, Ms. Floyd has released several highly acclaimed recordings. Critics have praised her music for its distinctive sound of progressive ensemble jazz that seamlessly portrays strong Biblical messages of faith in God.

The daughter of urban missionaries, Ruth’s Philadelphia roots are essential to her music. She embraces her faith through original jazz that speaks of the Christian’s response to contemporary issues.

This presentation is part of the 2016-2017 Central Concert Series. These concerts are for the community.
