In February, Central is hosting an important two-part discussion. On Friday, February 23, women and students are invited to dinner and a talk about body image and the gospel. On Saturday the 24th, adult women are invited back to talk about biblical sexuality.
Body image issues are far too common regardless of your age, faith, or gender. They are particularly acute for women though, as the media is awash with images telling us what women "should" look like. What does the Bible say about our bodies? How should our Christian theology affect how we see ourselves?
This Friday evening session is for all middle and high school girls, as well as women of all ages. Dinner will be served.
Whether you are a single woman considering future marriage, are married with kids, or are past your childbearing years, God's voice concerning our sexuality is greatly needed. On Saturday we will have an in depth look at many facets of sexuality: how God designed our anatomy and physiology and stewardship our bodies, and how to receive God's voice concerning our sexuality. We'll also cover several purposes for sex and talk about how past shame can change the way we view ourselves.
Saturday's session is for adult women only, and includes refreshments and lunch.
Our special guest speaker is Dawne Grove, MC, LMHC. Dawne is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State. She received her Bachelors in Counseling from Moody Bible Institute in 2002 and her Masters in Counseling from Trinity Western University’s ACTS Seminaries in 2006. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Her passion is to serve the local church and the community by providing Christ-centered professional counseling.
