Central Life Team

Central’s Life Team exists to glorify the Triune God by promoting a life-affirming biblical worldview in our church and community. We are an official committee of the church.

“Life affirming worldview” encompasses how the gospel as a message of spiritual rescue translates into our helping those needing physical rescue: embryos, the unborn, the elderly and infirm, and many others. How do we “promote” this worldview? Since our formation in 2006, we have:

  • Prayed
  • Equipped parents to mentor their children regarding sexuality and relationships
  • Equipped teens to live lives of sexual and relational integrity
  • Taught an EquipCentral class about what a holistic, biblical worldview of the sanctity of human life looks like.
  • Helped congregants help others in the life arena, for example, as a counselor for a woman in a crisis pregnancy
  • Promoted ThriVe St. Louis’ annual walk and run for life
  • Notified congregants of adoption opportunities
  • Testified about the pain of having had an abortion and offered help for those who have
  • Kept our pastoral staff updated on life-affirming issues and assisted them in pastoring us in those areas

We are led by elder Joe Stephens and made up of Central men and women with various backgrounds, ages, and experiences. We generally meet on the first Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00pm in Central’s library, but check the church calendar to be sure of our next meeting. You are invited to visit one of our meetings without any obligation to join. However, if you do want to join, we require training that we are sure will not only equip you for Team membership, but encourage you in your relationship with Jesus.

Please contact Joe ( or (314) 727-2607) for more information, to find out what we’re working on, and how you might fit into this Team.
