The Comfort Foundation, a ministry of compassion registered in Russia in the cities of Cherepovets and Vologda, was established to provide material and spiritual support to children in institutions such as orphanages and hospitals. Former Central youth leader Sherri Brock was instrumental in founding the ministry in 1998. One current Russian staff member recently noted that Sherri was “one very important person...in my life, who helped me to see my own mission. She has always been the spiritual leader and inspiration of the Comfort Foundation.” What a wonderful legacy!
- Praise God that he is reaching into the lives of children, breaking down the walls of self-defense and caution, and drawing them to himself.
- The children we work with come from broken homes and families where the healing process can be a long hard road. Pray that the children will come to know Christ personally.
- Pray that our staff will continue building love and trust and will have opportunities to mark milestones in the lives of children who might otherwise be forgotten.
- Pray for the changed lives of girls who have gone from thinking they were of no value to realizing they are daughters of the King of Kings.
- Pray for the four young boys from an orphanage (Zhenya, Yegor, Dima and Krill) who have been added to the family of God, and for twenty-eight children who regularly attend our Lighthouse Club.
- Pray that the Comfort Foundation and staff will have a successful year in 2011. It is good to know we are not alone, and together with God, great things will be done.
- Pray for the classes of Down Syndrome young people and the orphanage graduates that we help to resolve various issues of daily life in Russia.
- We are grateful that all is possible through your prayers and financial support.
