Who should attend?   

Dating and engaged couples considering marriage.

What are the different aspects of the Right Start program? 

This program consists of three parts:

  • Classroom lectures and exercises,
  • Reading and homework assignments, and
  • A relationship with a mentor couple.

When is the class? 

Right Start is held twice a year.  The fall class starts in September and the winter class begins in January. The class meets on Sunday afternoon from 3:30-5:00.  Dates of class are posted on main page.

 What topics are covered? 

Key areas of marital life are discussed.  Examples of topics covered are: biblical foundations for marriage, communication and conflict resolution, financial management, emotional and sexual intimacy, and financial stewardship.

What is a mentor couple?

Mentor couples have been married for a minimum of five years, have a satisfying marriage, and have completed mentor training. Couples meet with their mentors four times prior to marriage, and, if they should marry, three times during the first year of marriage. 

How much does Right Start cost? 

$125.00 per couple – Central Member
$175.00 per couple – Nonmember

What materials are used?

Each couple receives a copy of the book “Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts” and companion his/her workbooks by Les and Leslie Parrott.  In addition, couples will take two inventories, the Right Path Personality Profile and the PREPARE Relationship Inventory.

How do you register?

Fill out a registration form that is included in the Right Start brochure and mail it in with a check made out to Central Presbyterian Church.
