Congregational Care

As a royal priesthood (I Peter 2:9) we are all daily involved in congregational care. Thank you for the wonderful ways you are caring for those God has put in your life.

Our staff is here to encourage and equip our members in caring for others, come alongside those in need, and provide counseling, advice, or referrals to community resources.

When to Contact the Office

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on week days.

We welcome your calls….

• to request a visit or call from an elder, deacon, pastor,

or caring fellow member.

• to inform the church about a birth, hospitalization, or bereavement.

• to arrange for a pastor, music, or location for a funeral or memorial service.

Emergencies after Hours

Call the church number 314-727-2777 and follow the instructions.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer requests may be put on the pink pew cards or given to the church office by phone or email to . Elders are available in the prayer room between services to pray with you.

Personal Assistance

The deacons provide compassion, counsel, referrals, and assistance in addressing financial, physical and other personal needs. You are invited to join them in serving on Sundays as an usher, greeter, or driver. Let Joan Chapman know of your interest or ways the deacons might serve you or another member.

The Samaritan Group

This monthly support group meets to assist the family and friends of those who struggle with chronic mental illness such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, etc. For more information email Pat Grace at .

VIPs

VIPs are Vitally Interested Participants in the fellowship of Christ at Central Presbyterian Church. This groups seeks to develop a vital Christian fellowship for members sixty years of age or older and their friends. The VIPs meet once a month in the Fellowship Hall in September, October, November, March, April, May, and June. 

This fellowship loves to be together, to encourage one another, and to welcome their friends. We gather for a devotional, a wonderful and delicious lunch, and a program of interest. You are welcome to join us whenever you can. Details on upcoming luncheons are published in Information Central, also on this website.

Crossroads Career Network Logo

Crossroads Career Network is a new CPC ministry to provide job search and career transition services for people who are unemployed or in career transitions and seeking other employment. Services began on October 15, 2009 and will be facilitated by Lane Hardie.

Central Presbyterian is now a member of this national faith based organization. Full access to on-line services plus programs and training at Central will be available to members and friends of Central. Included among these services are:

Focusing on the marketplace

Search techniques

Interviewing and evaluating job offers

Preparing for the new job
