Fall Classes

The nursery is available for children 8 weeks to 2 years old from 5:15-7:45 pm on the first floor of the Early Childhood wing.

Early Childhood

Our youngest students will study Amazing New Testament Heroes on Wednesday nights. This curriculum by Discipleland reinforces Bible stories with fun games and crafts. Ages 3-1stgrade meet on the second floor of the EC wing (above the nursery) on Wednesday nights

Along with our weekly service project on Wednesday nights, our Elementary Students will be studying The Parables– as a compliment to our Sunday sermon series this fall. We’ll be using Kids’ Travel Guide Through the Parables. As we travel on this 13 week journey through Jesus' parables, including lessons on yeast, the sower, lost sheep, a mustard seed, the unmerciful servant, the good Samaritan and more. Grades 2-5 meet in the Duplex.

Middle School | Student Center

From 6:30-7:30, Middle Schoolers will meet in the Student Center for fellowship, a large group lesson, and some small group discussion. This year, we'll be working our way through  "The Wise Choice”: God’s Wisdom for Navigating Life by Tim Keller. We'll study what wisdom is, and how to be able to discern Christian ethics. The first two weeks provide a general overview of wisdom literature. Students will learn what wisdom is, and how a biblical worldview changes the way we make decisions. The second half of the series offers case studies on making wise choices. Each case study uses one of the Ten Commandments as a starting point. Each case study is tailor made for adolescents.

Then, Starting on October 17th, we’ll take a break from the 10 Commandments to begin a 4-part "Youth Confirmed Membership" class – open to MS students (and any HS students who are interested in coming) . Jeff Brown will lead the students through this series. The details:

  • The Last 4 Classes of EquipCentral: Oct 17, Oct 24, Nov 7, Nov 14 – during our Wed night programming
  • For the whole group on those Wednesday nights – The kids who are already confirmed members will go through the lessons as a review. High Schoolers who have not yet confirmed their membership are welcome.
  • Elder interviews Saturday, Dec 1 (same as the adult class)
  • New Members Received by the Sunday congregation Sun, Dec 9

Senior High | Main church building

Since our High Schoolers meet on Sunday nights, we don’t have regular programming on Wednesday nights for them, but we LOVE when they come and participate in the following HS mid-week options:

  • Student Leadership Program – This is a ministry-leader training program for grades 10-12. Our High School leaders learn and grow by ministering to and leading our middle schoolers on Wednesday night. Application required.
  • Adult Classes – This year, we’d love our High Schoolers to join Matt, Jared, and Divya in Ben Tzeng’s class “Explore God”.
  • Choir – High Schoolers are welcome to join the choir. Rehearsal is on Wednesday nights!

The Problems of Evil and Suffering
Dr. Mike Farley and Pastor Charles Godwin | Parlor

How can we trust God in the face of the world’s great evil and   suffering? Does the amount of evil in the world show that the God of the Bible does not exist? How can we confront the personal, emotional, and spiritual challenges of enduring, lamenting, and resisting evil? This class will examine Christian responses to these sorts of questions about evil and suffering as well as the practices that enable us to walk with God through the darkness of our doubt and the crucible of suffering with faith and hope in God.

Explore God
Pastor Ben Tzeng | Gathering Place

This class will tackle some of the hard subjects that challenge Christians and nonbelievers alike. We all have questions, and this discussion group embraces that. If you’ve ever wondered about the Bible’s reliability, your purpose in life, or if prayer really works, this group is for you. So grab some friends, and come explore God with us.

Men’s Bible Study
