As a covenant community, we take seriously the call to disciple our kids. Central's Family Ministry team has developed a curriculum with an intentional scope and sequence for teaching our children and teens. Of course, a child's training requires more than just classes and lessons. It also requires doing, and mission trips can be an invaluable opportunity classroom.
You have the opportunity to help make it possible for more of our students to have this sort of opportunity. On Sunday, March 11, the Student Ministry team is excited to present the first ever “Leader Talent Show at Central.”
Immediately after the 10:45 service, head down to the Fellowship Hall for a free lunch and a front row seat to what promises to be terrific entertainment. You will get to see some "incredible" talents as some of Central’s leaders, including Pastor Clay and others, show off their lesser-known God-given gifts. There may even be a surprise act or two in store for you!
You will have a big part of the show too. During lunch, you'll have time to purchase "vote tickets" for $1 each and then use those tickets to vote for the winning act. We’ll also raffle off a brand new Xbox and a HUGE teddy bear! Raffle tickets for these things will be $5 each.
Every dollar made at this talent show will go towards alleviating the financial burden for our students who are eager to give their time and energy to serve God and His people this summer. In June, the middle schoolers will participate in a week-long service camp at New City Fellowship, and two months later in August, our high schoolers will travel to Honduras to work with the Micah Project, which helps children from broken homes find the grace of God.
The more money raised, the more missions scholarships will be available and the more students will be able to experience these profound training opportunities! We look forward to seeing you at the talent show on March 11.
