About the Event

Adult MinistryChildcareSpecial EventWomen's Ministry

Through the poetry of Psalms, we experience the astounding beauty of God and the whole spectrum of human emotions. As we meditate on the Psalms, we increasingly know God and understand our own humanity more clearly.

The 2023 Winter Women’s Retreat invites you to Savor the Psalms with us! Come be refreshed by beauty and truth as we share a relaxing day of creative engagement together. In the morning, hear story & song from (special guest and) singer-songwriter Sandra McCracken, then personalize your afternoon with breakout sessions designed to help you to savor the Psalms through visual art, writing, exercise, time with friends, or solitude.

Q&A

How much does the retreat cost?

Cost for the whole day is $50. This includes the program, plus all materials and meals (breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack).

What time, what place?

The retreat is Saturday, February 25, and runs from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm on campus at Central Presbyterian Church. (We will begin in the Student Center for Breakfast and the Morning Session, then travel to the Sanctuary Building for lunch & afternoon activities, returning to the Student Center for our Closing Session.)

What will the schedule be like?

Our aim is a day that refreshes you, and so we are prayerfully pacing out the day to include quality content while also providing personalized times for relaxing with friends, creative expression, or quiet time alone with God.

We’ll start the day in the Student Center with check-in and a light breakfast beginning at 8:30 am. The Morning Session will welcome Sandra McCracken to share her experiences with the Psalms in our intimate retreat-style setting. We will then move to the Fellowship Hall for a High Tea-style Lunch, followed by breakout “Savor Sessions” (see the Breakout Session section for details). We will conclude this special day with a final group session featuring worship and a message from Central Women’s Ministry Director Julie Geisz.

 May I invite a friend?

Yes- absolutely! You may share this link with them and encourage them to sign up soon!

Will there be childcare available?

We are excited to offer limited nursery care for the retreat! Please provide us with the name & age of the child(ren) you would like to bring. There is no extra cost.

What are the breakout session choices?

During registration, you will have opportunity to reserve a spot in up to two separate 45-minute breakout sessions. Each will provide a unique opportunity for you to savor the Psalms.
