Serving around the corner and down the block

by Ben Tzeng on February 13, 2023

As we continue to be a church where people connect and grow, we have two upcoming opportunities to do both while serving our community. This spring, we will take two EquipU nights and use them to work together in serving the homeless and under-resourced here in St Louis. Our first EquipU Service Night is this Wednesday, February 15. It will be an amazing time of fellowship while you work with others! For our inaugural service project, we will break up into teams and create Blessing Bags.

Blessing Bags, also known as Necessity Bags or Care Kits, include a variety of items for people who are homeless, hungry, and in need of basic necessities. You will be able to take some bags with you to keep in your car, so you have a tangible, caring gift at the ready when you see someone asking for help. We will also give Blessing Bags to the Clayton Police Department and another local ministry so that they can hand them out to those in need as well.

Our next EquipU Service Night will be on March 15, when we partner with Sunshine Ministries (https://www.sunshineministries.org) to pack Sunshine Sacks, which provide a complete Easter dinner for a family in need.  We will be accepting donations for the next month near the Biltmore entrance.

Collection items:

  • 2 cans of any vegetables
  • 1 box of any variety of potatoes
  • 2 small cans of yams
  • 1 can of sliced pineapple
  • 1 box cornbread mix
  • 1 brownie mix
  • 1 bag of any Easter candy

Anyone interested in seeing the Sunshine Ministry facility will be invited to help us deliver the sacks! Join us on Sunday, March 19, after second service, and come to an Open House down in the city.

Be a part of our EquipU Service Nights; they will be an exciting time of bonding together and really loving on our community!  Questions? Contact Pastor Charles ( ) or Pastor Ben ( ).
