About the Event

ChildcareSunday School

Mostly ages 40s-60s

10:00–11:00 a.m.

Location: Classrooms A | B

Leaders: Tyler Stephens, Elizabeth Stephens and Thom Avery

Thom Avery is leading a study of the New Testament book of Luke. The scholar I. Howard Marshall once wrote, "Apart from the apostle Paul, Luke is arguably the most influential force in the canon of the New Testament. His Gospel and Acts occupy almost a third of the New Testament..." Our class will look at both Luke’s account of the history of the life of Jesus and also his theology of salvation. As a highly educated Gentile, Luke is particularly relevant today because he sought to conduct an orderly and detailed investigation of the life and ministry of Jesus, “that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught” (Luke 1:4).
